Our Cancer Care Clinics focus on helping people affected by cancer to have peace and bring restoration to the wairua through the use of taonga pūoro. Taonga Pūoro are crafted from natural materials such as wood, stone, and bone; they carry the resonance of the earth and ancestral voices. The sounds of taonga pūoro evoke a sense of calm and connection, allowing clients to experience deep relaxation and emotional release. Joe uses these instruments to create vibrations that promote healing through the vibration of the cells on a molecular level. Through taonga pūoro, Manahua offers a unique pathway to reconnect with whakapapa (lineage), Whenua (land), and wairua (spirit), facilitating healing and fostering a renewed sense of peace within individuals.

For these sessions you come in, we talk about where you are feeling most pain and discomfort. Then you lie down on a massage table or sit in a massage chair depending on comfort and mobility, and you have the taonga pūoro played both gently touching you and around you depending on the instrument.
