About the clinic
These Cancer Care Clinics offer Mirimiri Romiromi treatments in a supportive, safe, and culturally grounded environment for whānau affected by cancer.
Mirimiri Romiromi is a traditional Māori bodywork practice that works holistically with the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body. The treatments recognise that cancer impacts more than just the physical body and provide space for care that supports the whole person.
Sessions focus on releasing physical tension, calming the nervous system, restoring balance, and supporting the body’s natural healing processes through gentle yet purposeful touch. Treatments are guided by tikanga Māori and are adapted to each person’s needs, comfort, and stage of their cancer journey.
These clinics are fully funded and are available to whānau at any stage of cancer. This includes those newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, post treatment, or living with cancer long term. Support people and whānau are also welcome where appropriate.
